It's not like I'm one of those people who hate winter and can't wait for summer to arrive. I actually love this season with the coziness, cold noses and warm scarves (no hats! never hats on this curly head). But when I see what's happening on my window sill, I get excited for spring. What you see growing here are tomatoes, eggplants and some flowers. We're going to 're-do' (or actually, just properly 'do') our garden, so there's more to come.
Another thing I'm obsessed with these weeks: sewing! I've dabbled into a lot of crafts over the years, but sewing was never really one of them. Sometimes I had to, for some project or other, but sewing machines and me didn't quite get along. It takes some practise to figure out how the machine works and how to get that seam straight and I just never had to time or patience to get into all that. But I'm working on some new projects that required a sewing machine and skills to go along with it, so I decided to take sewing lessons! i know there are a million sewing tutorials out there, but I liked the idea of having someone around to ask questions and to show me some tricks. As a side effect, it forced me to carve out a few mornings and really set time aside to start sewing.
For those who are interested and in the Utrecht area: I took lessons with Anneliese from Analysed and highly recommend it.
I even started to 'design' some of my own fabric for some easy starter projects. More on that later!
